The legend of a young fisherman who, after being kind to a small turtle, was allowed to discover the secrets of the sea.

Long ago, there lived a young fisherman named Urashima Taro. One day, while walking along the beach, Taro saw some children mistreating a small turtle. Feeling sorry for it, he said, "You should not hurt such a tiny creature. I will give you this fish if you let it go."

Taro gave the children the fish he had caught that day. Then he carried the little turtle to the water and said, "You are safe now. Go back to the sea." And so he gently returned it to the waves.
